Vegan Spaghetti Sauce with TVP

This sauce can be use with any pasta, like spaghetti, macaronis, etc... For a Lasagna, a the end of this first recipe you will find an other one to do Feta Vegan Cheese, using tofu!

Ingrédients :

  • TVP ground ''beef''

  • Tomato paste

  • Tomato

  • Onion

  • Carrots

  • Celery

  • Green and Red pepper

  • Garlic

  • Nutritionnal yeast (optionnal)


  • Italian spices mix

  • Oregano

  • Parsley

  • Basil

  • Salt

  • Cayenne pepper

  • Sugar

Step 1 : Preparation

Let the TVP soak in water, the time that it become soft. You can also marinate it in soy sauce to give it a darker color, or you can also add smoked paprika - or whatever smoked spices - to add an extra meaty taste to it. Cut veggie in little cube, except the tomato : Blend it so it become a puree.

Step 2 : Cooking

Dans une casserole, Ajouter de l'huile. Lorsque l'huile est chaude, ajouter l'ail, les oignons, puis les carottes, le céleris, et les poivrons Vert et rouge. Lorsque les légumes sont cuits, ajouter la purée de tomate et laissez cuire un moment. Ajouter ensuite la purée de tomate afin the rendre la sauce un peu plus épaisse.

Ajouter ensuite toutes les épices, en gardant le sel pour la fin. Le sucre sert à réduire l'acidité des tomates.

In a saucepan, add oil. When the oil is hot, add the garlic, the onion, carrots, celery, green and red peppers. When the veggies are soft, add the tomato puree and the tomato paste, add all the spices (quantity depending of your taste) and keep the salt for the very end. The sugar is to reduce the acidity of the tomato. Let cook for a while the time it get a little bit thicker.

Take of the water form the TVP, and add it to the sauce. Let cook about 10 minutes, and add salt at the end, depending of your taste. You can also add some Nutritionnal yeast for an extra cheesy taste.

Optionnal : For a spaghetti sauce with meatball, use our Veg-o-mix : Meatball flavor. You can directly add it to the sauce, or cook-it in spice before doing it.

Step 3 : Serve

Add on top of any pasta! If you want to make a lasagna with it, here is a recipe of vegan feta cheese in bonus!

BONUS : Vegan feta Cheese

Ingredients :

  • Tofu

  • Nutritionnal Yeast

Spices :

  • Garlic powder

  • Salt

  • Pepper (optionnal)

Step 1 : Preparation

Break the tofu in little irregular pieces, so it visually look like feta cheese. Add garlic powder, salt, and a little bit of black pepper. Finally, add Nutritional yeast and mix everything together.
